Making Him Famous

With my career there are two different aspects to what I do. I am a Christian artist, but I also play secular music at venues all over the Midwest. Even though these are two separate parts of the same journey, the vision and the mission are the same.

One thing I always think about as my footprint grows and my involvement in these groups becomes more successful, is my personality with my platform. There are certain things that I desire to maintain as I progress in the industry, and continue this journey as a full-time musician.

1. Letting My Light Shine

I want to make sure that when given the opportunity, I continue to walk the walk. I want to show people the gospel with my actions much more than my words. I think it’s important to associate professionalism, courtesy, and respect as part of being a Christian. These are the attributes I believe every believer should have, and I want to convey them as synonymous of who we are.

2. Always Be Grateful

Every opportunity we get to perform is not based on merit or our accolades, but everything we’ve been given is a blessing from God. He has blessed us with so much, and I want to make sure I always remember to give credit where credit is due. He also has the ability to take it all away, and if that happens, so be it. It’s part of his plan and I’m just here to follow what he has in store for me.

3. Love First

As I’ve learned, I believe it’s important when meeting people to show them love first. In this day and age, it seems like some believers tend to stay away from places where people who may think and act differently than Christians spend most of their time. With these opportunities that we have to play at bars and wineries, I think it’s important to show people how are lives are different by our words and actions. These are the times that I see are so important in this day and age. Maybe you don’t agree with their lifestyle, but you can still love them.

All of these things that I have mentioned are things that Mallory and I strive for. We want to show the world who we are and why we do what we do, but at the same time, we never want to forget who brought us here and where we came from. In essence, staying humble and accepting the blessings as not or own, but God’s. This is the time that will shape our futures, and we can only hope that we continue down the path God has designed for us.
