Forevermore (Devotional)

June 1, 2018 (Music Video Release Date)

Forevermore

Romans 12:1-2

New International Version (NIV)

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

The entire theme of the album, NOMAD is about searching for physical comfort, dealing with the issue of coveting, and is mostly about wanting normalcy in this life. Forevermore opens the flood gates (and the album) with what our home should be found in... God’s will.

My responsibility

Greater than the things you see

Don’t neglect the role to guide the way

Favoring the flesh leads you astray

Given these abilities

There’s no place for you and me

I am emptied to reveal his plan

And I’m hoping that you understand

My promise to the Lord

Forevermore

There is an echo toward the end of the song that rings out, “Forevermore,” over and over again, and this is a symbol of what believers are called to do.

When we live our lives, it is our responsibility to follow him, make him known, and live in his will all our lives. Also, when we pass from this life on to eternity, our responsibility doesn’t change. We are to continue those same responsibilities.

I wanted that word to ring out in the song as well as in your minds when you finish listening. It’s a glimpse of heaven; a constant ringing out of praises to our King and Creator.

This song has another side to it as well: I don’t want people with selfish ambitions trying to get in the way of God’s will for my life.

If you have an alternate agenda or mindset to what God’s will is for my life, we will remain open minded to your suggestion, but won’t be changing the course God has set for us. It’s non-negotiable and intolerable.

God’s will is done with or without our involvement. I choose to be on the side of God.

Luke 19:40

New International Version (NIV)

“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
